Attending the London Palladium last night to see my son drumming with Jamie Cullum, I was so upset when I was told that Gareth passed away in February. I had no idea. Gareth was a special pal, a fan of my daughters The Webb Sisters too. Arranged for my late friend Helen Reddy to be in the Palladium 'Hall of Fame' too. I e mailed Gareth earlier this year and unusually got no reply. I am so sad and send all the love in the world to Gareth's family - he was a very special person. xx

Thoughts
As I head back to the Palladium tonight to watch Morrissey, my thoughts turned to my old boss from the 90s when I worked there in various guises. So it was a shock to find out we lost Gareth last year. It was a long time ago but I remember him with great fondness; one of my first bosses, always fair, a lovely guy with a wry smile to show you just enough to say you’d done well. Sending love to his family and friends. I’ll raise a glass as I pass your stairs this evening, boss.

Thanks for giving me a chance and bringing me down to earth when I thought things were in the bag. Making me laugh and bringing the smile into the job, which it never was, it was somewhere to meet up and get paid to laugh. The knocking back of the head laugh, of haaa ha. It will be missed. Sleep well, keep the champers on ice. ❤️

I wouldn't be living here in the UK had it not been for Gareth. I owe that man a great deal. He and the amazing management team at the Palladium helped me with my visa application to return to the UK almost ten years ago now. I then spent four amazing years working for him. I'll forever be in his debt. Godspeed Gareth.
